Asmari ( Stone in Bladder) Asmari is a disease produced by the formation or lodging of a stone in the urinary passage. It is also called mutrasmari. The signs and symptoms of the disease include severe abdominal pain in the umbilical or urinary bladder region referred to perineal raphe of penis, obstruction to urinary flow due to which patient passes urine drop by drop and with difficulty. The effort to urinate produces intense pain, the pain is aggravated by running, jumping, riding and walking long distance, and blood in the urine are also the symptoms of mutrasmari. The following measures and products are considered to be beneficial for the patients suffering from asmari: basti karma , virecana, vamana , langhana, sweating , playing in water , drinking water, yava (barley) , kulattha, old variety of Sali rice, madira (liquor), egg of birds living around deserts, old fruit and leaves of the plant kusmanda, goksura, leaves of varuna, ginger, pasanabheada, yuvaksara, renuka, salaparni and removing out stones with help of tools (yantra). The patient of Asmari should avoid holding the force of urine and semen. He should also avoid citrus, constipating, sour and heavy to digest eatable and drinks.
